Tear-down Service Discount
NFPA 10 requires all stored pressure fire extinguishers to be serviced and recharged every six years. This maintenance must be completed by a certified fire extinguisher service provider. Below is a step-by-step breakdown of the 6-Year fire extinguisher maintenance process:Discharge the existing dry chemical powder in the extinguisher and replace the valve stem and the O-Rings to prevent any future leaks, refill with an ABC dry chemical and nitrogen to the manufacturer’s recommended weight. To ensure there are no leaks in the extinguisher, the technician uses a mixture of water and soap to check for small leaks. The 6-year compliance sticker as well as the annual inspection tag are placed on the cylinder, and it now meets NFPA compliance.

Rubber blow off caps are designed to protect the fire suppression nozzles of a kitchen suppression system from the buildup of dirt and grease. They are flexible rubber or metal and will blow off the nozzle when the automatic fire suppression system is activated. Fusible links are temperature sensitive fire protection devices designed to be part of a fire protection system. The system is activated when the ambient temperature increases to the point that causes the fusible link to “break-apart” and activate the fire suppression system. The break rod is used to resist unwanted activation if accidentally snagged or pulled lightly.

Inspect condition of battery to ensure compliance
Tests include measuring the temperature to ensure that the battery is not 18° F (10° C) above ambient temperature; measuring the voltage to ensure the battery and charger are still operational; measuring the voltage at each cell of the battery to confirm each cell is greater than 13.26 volts; and measuring the internal ohmic value of each battery and comparing it to previous tests to ensure that the battery does not have 30 percent or more conductance or 40 percent or more resistance or impedance than previous tests, or that it is outside the manufacturer’s acceptable ranges.
Battery Replacement
Every three years the batteries need to either be replaced, or a load test needs to be conducted. The battery is discharged until it reaches its end voltage. Based on the known load and the time taken to discharge, you can then calculate the capacity of the battery and apply any adjustments for temperature. The battery must be replaced if the capacity is less than 80 percent of its rated capacity.

Exercise, Lubricate and Repack Valves
We maintain your valves, as necessary, to preserve your equipment.
Properly lubricated valves are protected from the harms of corrosion and oxidation. Valve packing is essential for preventing leakage. In short, packing is a gasket that provides a sturdy seal between the valve’s stem and the bonnet.
Replace Damaged Indication Signs
We ensure that all your equipment is properly indicated.
Fire sprinkler signs identify components and valves for your fire sprinkler system such as the location of the system and the system’s unique demands. These signs should be clearly marked and constructed with durable materials.

NFPA 25, Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems provides the criteria for the routine activities that must be conducted to ensure that water-based fire protection systems, such as automatic sprinklers systems, can be relied upon in the event of a fire.
Sprinkler Spare Head Box Replenishment
We properly stock your spare head box.
According to NFPA 13, you should have spare sprinkler heads on the premises so if any of your sprinkler systems have been operated or damaged, they can be replaced promptly. Additionally, a fire sprinkler head wrench should be stored in the sprinkler head cabinet for each type of fire sprinkler installed on the system. If you have under 300 sprinkler heads on your property, you need at least six spare heads. If you have 300-1000 sprinkler heads you need no fewer than twelve spare heads. If you have over 1,000 sprinklers you need at minimum 24 spare heads.
